Once you are up and running with your iPad, it’s time to explore all of the different ways you can use it. This page has some quick tips for using your iPads and suggestions for the types of apps you might want to download and use.

  • Tip One: Keep your iPad charged – Make sure that you plug in your iPad between uses. Particularly consider how you will ensure the iPad is charged between residents making calls to their loved ones.
  • Tip Two: Consider how the iPad will be used – The iPads can be really useful for helping residents to keep in touch with their friends and families. You may also be using them to hold virtual calls with the GP or with other health and care professionals. Consider how you will schedule these calls and how you organise them with residents’ loved ones in particular. You might want to consider a set timetable for calls or how you will arrange these in advance.

Getting the most out of the iPads

You can choose how you, your staff and your residents use the iPads. There are lots of different types of apps (applications) available for you to download and use. If you can’t find something on the Self-Service app, you can set up an Apple ID and download it through the Apple App store.
