Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) – What is Approaching Standards?
Date: Monday 15 March 2021
Location: Zoom Webinar
A new report has been published exploring how the adult social care sector uses technology. It identifies good practice as well as any data security risks. The report was commissioned by the Care Provider Alliance, Local Government Association and the Department of Health and Social Care. The report was written by the Institute of Public Care at Oxford Brookes University (IPC).
This report identifies the common, key risks that providers face. It also considers the effectiveness of existing support for providers, and the changes needed nationally and locally to systems and support to maintain cyber security and good information governance.
IPC’s research took place from October 2018 until March 2019 in three local authority areas:
It included a representative sample of care providers of all types, sizes and levels of use of technology. IPC has also published five case studies, written in collaboration with participating providers. These illustrate some of the good practice in data and cyber security that was found.
